Hi, I’m Karen, a 29-year-old microbiologist living in Perth. For the past three years, I’ve been trying to navigate life after my divorce. It hasn’t been easy, especially with the demands of my career. Balancing work and maintaining a healthy lifestyle has been a constant struggle for me.
As a microbiologist, my days are often long and unpredictable. Working in the lab requires intense focus and precision, which can be mentally draining. By the time I finish my workday, I’m usually too exhausted to think about exercising or cooking a healthy meal. Over time, this lack of self-care has started to show. I want to find something that can easily fit into my hectic schedule—something that will help me regain control over my physical and mental well-being without adding more stress to my life.
I’ve started exploring different options, from quick workout routines that I can do at home, to mindfulness practices that don’t require hours of meditation. I’m also looking into healthier eating habits that are easy to maintain, even with my busy lifestyle. My goal is to find a balance that allows me to feel good about myself without feeling overwhelmed by the process.
I know I’m not alone in this struggle. Many of us are trying to find that elusive balance between work and personal well-being.
